PRESIDENT - BOARD POSITION
Presides over the Board Meetings
Oversees committees for Community Relations and Fundraising
VICE PRESIDENT - BOARD POSITION
Presides over Board Meetings in the absence of the President
Schedules guest speakers
Oversees committee for Corporate, Legal and Insurance
Oversees facility management
TREASURER - BOARD POSITION
Maintains banking relationships
Reports all income and taxes to appropriate authority
Receives and deposits all proceeds
Pays all expenses and bills
Maintains accounts receivable
Maintains all insurance and licenses in good standing
Oversees committees for Fundraising and Grant Writing
SECRETARY - BOARD POSITION
Records all discussion during the Board Meetings
Prepares Board agenda
Responds to all donations received
Coordinates with the advertising and promotions chairperson
Maintains files for all business
Coordinates with the chairperson for grant applications
Maintains current rosters for volunteers, clients and Board members
HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Oversees all client lessons
Provides guidance, instruction and orientation for all instructors
Interacts with Volunteer Coordinator
Interacts with Client Coordinator on lesson scheduling
Makes recommendations for appropriate livestock upkeep
Inspects and approves program horses
Reports directly to the Board of Directors
ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Webmaster- maintain and update web site
Interacts with Fundraising Chairperson for event promotions
Newsletter publication and editing
Press releases
Creates and designs graphic media
Identifies target market
Implements advertising campaign
Formats and gives presentations to fraternal, philanthropic groups.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Qualifications: Must have some experience in an office environment or be a Business Administration major currently attending school. Should have good communication and organizational skills.
Prepares and distributes volunteer packages
Keeps a record of all fund raising event preparations
Receives and disseminates all correspondence received
Responds to all telephone inquiries
Submits report to Board of Directors monthly
FUNDRAISING SPECIALIST
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Be reliable and enthusiastic.
Recommends to the Board ideas for fundraising
Plans and organizes fundraising events
Forms and oversees the fundraising committee
Has primary involvement in the writing of Grant applications
Procures donations from the community
Submits a report to the Board of Directors monthly
VOLUNTEER AND/OR CLIENT COORDINATOR
Qualifications: Should have good communication skills and be enthusiastic.
Interacts with Head Instructor
Schedules clients with the available instructor
Schedules volunteers needed for client lessons
Make reminder calls to clients 24 hours in advance of scheduled lesson and communicates to instructors and volunteers if client cancels.
SIDE WALKERS
Qualifications: Should have some horsemanship knowledge. Must be able to follow directions. Must be reliable.
Assists in the therapy lesson by aiding the rider with support and stabilization.
Leads horse as required by the instructor
Maybe asked to back ride (ride behind the client)
May be asked to groom and tack the horses
Performs other duties as required by the instructor.
GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
Qualifications: None. Many positions available. The more hands to help the less any one individual will need to do.
Available to assist as needed for any of the activities or events, including but not limited to, administrative, fund raising, promotions, lessons.
